Foxglove Lamp

I always wanted to use steambent forms as volumes for light to occupy. While the shade came easily from my personal experiments, I decided to design a floor lamp whose base elevates the steambent form without overpowering the subtle twist in each member of the volume.  I tried a variety of base designs, but settled on this as a happy medium that added a certain amount of drama and an anthropomorphic quality given the scale.  This project also challenged me to find unobtrusive ways of hiding elements like the cord and bulb while still being honest to the process of making.
