A​ ​table​ ​inspired​ ​by​ ​tree​ ​branches​ ​and​ ​the​ volumes​ ​and​ ​negative​ ​spaces​ ​they​ ​create.​ ​Just​ ​as​ ​in​ ​tree  branches,​ ​the​ ​overlap​ ​of​ ​the​ ​elements​ ​of​ ​this​ ​table​ ​create​ ​different​ ​compositions​ ​of​ ​negative​ ​space  as​ ​the​ ​viewer​ ​sees​ ​the​ ​piece​ ​from​ ​different​ ​angles​ ​and​ ​distances.​ ​The​ ​course​ ​curriculum​ ​required  this​ ​piece​ ​to​ ​be​ ​realized​ ​with​ ​limited​ ​machines​ ​(bandsaw,​ ​drill​ ​press,​ ​slot​ ​mortiser)​ ​so​ ​the​ ​design  is​ ​intended​ ​to​ ​embody​ ​the​ ​spirit​ ​of​ ​this​ ​working​ ​style​ ​by​ ​using​ ​angles​ ​and​ ​custom​ ​pieces​ ​that  would​ ​be​ ​difficult​ ​to​ ​execute​ ​in​ ​an​ ​efficient​ ​manner​ ​with​ ​machinery.
